Elf’s High Definition Under Eye Powder ($3) is a near perfect dupe for the popular product by Laura Mercier that goes for $28 at Sephora. Laura Mercier’s Secret Brightening Powder for Under Eyes is great but for $24 less, you should give Elf’s Under Eye Powder a chance!

Probably my favorite drugstore dupe so far! Elf’s Beauty Shield Makeup SPray does the same thing as Urban Decay’s All Nighter Pollution Protection Makeup Setting Spray for environmental defense. It sells for $39 a bottle at Sephora which is a hefty price for a makeup setting spray but can you put a price tag on protecting your precious skin from pollution? I think not but thankfully Elf makes a more affordable version that sells for just $8.

This is one item from a recent Elf.com order and it’s such a stand out piece of makeup that I have to make a little review for it. Granted, I have only used it twice but the colors are absolutely ridiculous and it’s unlike any Elf palette you’ve ever seen before. Christian Siriano delivered.

These are both images directly from elf’s webpage because I didn’t feel like my photos could do the palette’s striking beauty and the richness of the color. I was able to swatch it on some watercolor paper (which is my new thing) and it feels true to how the colors look.

I must say that this is hands down the highest quality palette that I’ve ever purchased from elf. With that said, I love Elf and it’s one of only 2 drugstore brands that I buy regularly (the other being nyx). If you buy one palette this year, make it this one right here. It sells for $12 and it looks like a $60 eyeshadow palette on your lids. The brush included is wonderful and unquestionably gives off a high end vibe and reminds me of a mini brush you would find in an Urban Decay palette. In fact, it’s kind of like a mini version of the brush that comes in the Naked palettes. The palette comes with 6 eye shadows (2 for highlighting/base and 4 bold jewel toned colors) and a highlighter that can be used for your eyes or anywhere on your face.

The only thing I am bummed about is that the colors don’t seem to be named. I couldn’t find color names on the box or anywhere on the actual palette. Maybe we should make up color names for the palette ourselves. I don’t know.

Ok. I am ready to hear your suggestions on how to name these colors!

There will certainly be some more reviews or unboxing posts with some of my newest elf products and I have more on the way but I felt that this palette was worth jumping the gun on because these types of items sell out quickly and it’s an amazing palette that you won’t regret buying!

Hello Hello! Since I am thinking spring and it’s time for my nails to come out of hiding, I thought it was time to make a list of my favorite nail care products. Some are oldies but some on my list are ones that I may have not been using forever but still have earned a place here on my list for being outstanding newbies.

The best mini polishes on planet earth. Period.

Deborah Lippmann Cuticle Lab

This is a little pricey at $45 but it’s well worth it when you consider it’s basically the price of 2 manicures. Your nails will thank you!

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat

This stuff dries in 60 seconds flat. Because who has time more time than that? Seriously. Thank you Sally.

h2o plus Beauty Hand & Nail Cream

I have been using this for years after discovering the brand through Disney Parks and I haven’t looked back. Out of everything on this list, I don’t think there’s a brand that I would more strongly recommend. Seriously, you’ll thank me again and again if you give h2o beauty a chance.

Sephora Collection Nail Polish Remover Instant Wipes

Perfect for travel and efficient for getting tough polish off. Very well priced.

Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil

I go through this like water but it keeps my nails strong. When I don’t use it, I notice the difference and they break more often. Plus the smell is sweet.

Nails Inc Duos

Mermaids, Unicorns, Space, Champagne Seas, and so on. Nails Inc knows how to make a great duo.

Sally Hansen Gel Rehab

This product is the real deal. I got it after a disaster of a manicure and this overnight nail mask somehow made me feel like I had recovered.

Sephora Crystal Nail File

I just bought another one of these after losing my last one. It’s a good investment. I won’t lie it takes getting used to when it comes to a crystal file but it saves a ton of money especially after I canceled my Julep subscription. They have the best traditional nail files.

Julep

One of the best deals on nail polish and a great monthly subscription box. I miss mine all the time and might sign back up soon. They really do have quality products. I gave almost all mine to my nieces though but the great part was that I could do so with confidence because Julep is one of the nail polish companies that is free from many of the garbage chemicals that I try my best to avoid when buying polish. Hence why I mostly use Nails Inc, Ciate, Essie, and Debrah Lippmann.
